Zander Humate

A dilutable liquid extract of the parent material. One litre treats a hectare. It is the part of the system that travels.

Given the bulk of , it is not realistic to ship it around the world for annual field crops. Zander Humate is the answer: a highly dilutable liquid concentrate, extracted from the parent material, used mainly as a foliar spray.

Dilution may be as much as 1:400 humate to water. One application over one hectare uses one litre of concentrate and four hundred litres of water.

What it does inside the leaf

Zander Humate carries an important organic acid, fulvic acid. Sprayed dilute onto the leaves, it enters the leaf metabolism by way of the stomata and phloem and is carried to the cell mitochondria. There it acts as a catalyst to the energy reactions in which nitrogen from soil water is fused with sugar from photosynthesis to form amino acids and proteins.

The outcome is optimal growth and improved fruit quality, with a higher brix — dissolved sugar — content. The extract is also rich in the light elements: calcium, magnesium and potassium. Applied later in the year, its elevated potassium makes plants markedly more resistant to the diseases associated with colder weather.
